In the darkest of night
that is when the soul burns bright
When I am on my knees in prayer
the load breaks, no more I can bare
When burdens scatter to the floor
I can say I have given my All
I welcome the dark in me
as this is when I truly see
When the darkness fades
precipitated, end of a phase
I can say I was present to it all
I keened but I did not fall
