For the sun will rise higher

conistonclouds
the day is long
and yet the sun
shines for a short time
as winter is not yet done
 
the sun rises but
not so high as to
reach the garden chair
or flower beds for glory
 
power of the shine
is for only a spell
as I am reminded
of days that will come
 
a brief glimpse
of golden rays
spark of brighter days and
hope as spring will surely come

O sun streak through
Alabaster days
Banish weak torment
Of the morning haze

Glisten into the sea
Adorn the mighty waves
Flee the blinding mists
Brighten with golden rays

Bring forth the spirit
Of dawn full of praise
Sing from dismal slumber
Out of this dark phase

113 Days till Summer

Pielcastleframed

In January we had a sunny day but the wind was ice cold. I ventured out to take photos from the coast. This island with its ruined castle is magical on clear days. Wrapped up I took some photos and the reward was a hint of sun, a reminder of summer on its way, just 113 days.
