Morning Dew
A majesty of fairies
Fashioned crystal glass
At the tips of each
Fine blade of grassAt the darkest decline
Darning gems so bright
Then directing prisms
To the morning lightThey collected their thimbles
And trimmed the thread
But left before dawn
Quietly they fled -
Night Garden
Upon the moonlit grass
My toes do tread
Turf and earth imprinting
On a mossy bedA tired floret stoops
A sleepy head
Resting…sequestered…
Nothing to be saidA chill blows from the east
Then ceases… to ground
Still…serenity
Folds in…to surroundIs this dreaming … revealing?
Looking to the skies
Into night’s darkness

Day 27 for NaPoWriMo2015 – the prompt – optional, as always — comes to us from Vince Gotera. It’s the hay(na)ku). Created by the poet Eileen Tabios and named by Vince, the hay(na)ku is a variant on the haiku. A hay(na)ku consists of a three-line stanza, where the first line has one word, the second line has two words, and the third line has three words. You can write just one, or chain several together into a longer poem.
