  • Mary Magdalene Feast Day

    Magdalene Week has arrived, and today I am reflecting on the double meaning of the goddess scabbard: the protective solidarity of sisterhood and containment, alongside the shadow side of the blade it holds.

    I have taken a decent into the Magdalene studies since my teenage years. There are many courses, events, gatherings, in every continent. The name of the Magdalene flows throughout history, with Schools offering initiations, from Pope Francis with the Feast Day of Mary Magdalene from 2016, 1996 to the present Magdalene Laundries historical documentaries, published investigations, and ongoing campaigns that brought our attention to the forced unpaid labour, psychological trauma, and mass grave discoveries, the Gospel of Mary codex purchased in Cairo in 1896 by German diplomat Carl Reinhardt and taken to Berlin, and the erroneous homily of 591 AD by Pope Gregory,  also Freud to Galen and to Hippocrates, with so many more connecting Hysteria and the womb.

    There is a longing for priestess-like communities rooted in sisterhood, inclusivity, and commonality. There is also the deep need for sheltered and protection still to this day. There will be no end to the mystery of seeking her ways, her rites, her initiations and that is all transformative and meaningful. It is the journey of all journeys towards the sacred. But the cautionary marker for me has been to stop mixing up the profits and the prophetesses. We are not there yet as a collective, when the price for inclusion out prices those in great need. We see high-cost mystery schoolings and charities asking for donations for women’s shelters. A balance needs to come in before we can see the Feminine line as one that is taking care of all women, all women as equal, safe and sovereign. Today the words from the Gospel of Mary still ring out. And if I were ever to advocate a teaching path, I would say this…

    Read the words, go look at the Gospel of Mary, you can find it free online. Contemplate the words, rest in silence and resist thoughts, desire, bindings, turnings and open to the teachings of Hers and His in Kenosis. Through the study guides of the Gospel and Heart Centering Prayer Practice, in my opinion, I have found this to be the closest I have every attained to what the teachings may have resembled. And they can be free or worth a few books at the most. I know some will say, that the Gospel of Mary holds no evidence that She was the Author, so please do your own analysis.

    Think of Her and Her story.

    Dream into Her

    Sit with others in Silence or Sacred Spaces

    Be Cautious

    Be Creative

    And reflect on the history She is connected to, in both story and in name.

  • We are Equal, we are as One….

    The author Cynthia Bourgeault says that any discord in the ranks amongst the apostles is simply silenced in the canonical gospels. It is when we look to the gnostic writings that we see a lack of harmony amongst them. Here in the Gospel of Mary Magdalene we see that Peter and Mary are far apart rather than side by side in their perspectives. We see Peter looking on, clinging, it appears that Peter is stuck and Mary is free. When the gnostic scriptures, the Nag Hammadi, were discovered didn’t leaders and academics say these same things about Yeshua’s teachings, sounding strange and not fitting with the other recordings of his ministry. And yes, I agree that the Gospel of Mary is so much more a metaphysical account than a retelling of the life of Yeshua. The core message I receive in the present moment about this passage, (page 17 and 18) is that she names him, “My Brother Peter”, my equal, As Yeshua named them My Brother’s and Sister, there is no hierarchy amongst them. In the eyes of their Saviour and in the eyes of Mary, they are all equal, Brother addressing Sister, Man and Woman.

  • She wept….

    We are approaching the end of the Gospel and now we see the disciples doubting her experience of the vision with the Saviour. She is challenged by the other Apostles, and she wept. I talk about the breaking down, as the breaking through, as Mary stands fully in her Power. We are taking a step towards the Bridal Chamber, as Mary’s Gospel is paving the way for this to be the most critical teaching……

    In this video I am reminded of being fully witnessed brings us completely central in our truth. I see how being seen is a powerful, and a result of circle practice.

    These are my new Lights, my new impressions from the first pages with discussions from Peter with the Saviour. Here Peter asks about Sin and the Saviour answers with the words, translated by David Curtis, to ” find contentment at the level of the heart” page 8.

    This passage is speaking to me about manifesting at the level of the heart, to find contentment and find that vibration, that feeling that brings my true nature into the everyday. Here I am speaking of maintaining my balance, my harmony.

  • Mary Magdalene and the Red Egg

    There are stories and legends of Mary across the centuries. One of those stories is of the Red Egg that she presented to the Emperor Tiberius and it turned bright red. A miracle that was to represent to the Emperor that Christ was Risen. The story of the Egg is directly linked to the Resurrection, is this the connect of Eggs to Easter?

    Here are my thoughts on the story of the Red Egg and Mary. In this video I look at the symbolism and the links to the meaning of the egg. I feel into my own understanding of rebirth and the cycle of the seasons.

  • All Natures within – Mary Magdalene’s Gospel

    Every time I revisit The Gospel of Mary I am brought into a New Light. By that I mean that something new is awakened in me. This is not just my perspective but that of others too. Recently I took part in an online study group on the Gospel and this was a standard format for reading and discussing the words of Mary and her teachings. I don’t doubt there is a little of Mary’s Magic in here too.

    Yesterday I read the Gospel from the beginning and the opening paragraphs brought me into the new light of the message from the Gospel of Thomas, “when you make the inside like the outside, and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below”. It also resembled to me the toroidal field heart flow, the flow of energy not just around the heart but all things living, including the smallest of our living cells.

    These are the books on the translations of the Gospel of Mary. I use a wide view of the translations to find a feeling, a fit, that sits right with me. The sense I get is that the Gospel speaks to us on many levels of our own emotional landscape. The experience I have, and other readers, is that the Gospel can give a new meaning, a quote, a new message each time it is read. This is what is meant by a New Light. How do I know? I have just completed a Gospel of Mary reading course. All the participants in the group experienced New Lights from the text each week! Each time it is read, over and over, it speaks to us “at the level of the heart”.
